We currently have openings for the following positions:
F/T Senior Estimators sought by Warwick Plumbing & Heating Corporation dba Warwick Mechanical Group in Newport News, VA. Responsible for all aspects of HVAC, Plumbing, and Piping bids and proposals. Review plans and specifications. Accurately estimate costs of HVAC and plumbing systems planning, speculation, design and building using computer estimating systems and related software. Solicit vendor and subcontractor quotations and review for scope compliance. Prepare estimates. Attend pre-bid meetings when required. Maintain files of working documents. Establish and maintaining vendor relationships. Review details of estimates with management. Manage pre-construction RFI’s submitted and received. Participate in turnover meetings. Job Reqs: Master’s Deg. in Engineering, Construction, or Related Field + 36 months experience as Estimator in HVAC, Plumbing & Mechanical Piping OR Bach Degree in in Engineering, Construction, or Related Field + 60 months experience as Estimator in HVAC, Plumbing & Mechanical Piping. Objective
Administer Corporate Safety Program for all jobsites and fabrication facilities. Plans, implements and supervises all project safety, accident and fire protection programs through the direction of Senior Management for a large, complex project or on a group of medium sized projects. Analyzes needs and determines specifications for protective safety equipment, materials and gear. Directs surveillance inspections and controls hazardous working conditions or unsafe employee activities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct Jobsite inspections on a regularly scheduled basis
- Provide Safety Program assistance and direction to Foremen & Service Technicians
- Present field personnel training in all aspects of Construction Safety
- Prepare jobsite specific Activity Hazard Analysis as required
- Provide all new employees with Safety Orientation Program
- Administer new employee sign-in process to include drug testing
General Requirements
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle Driving Record for driving company vehicle.
- Acceptable Background Investigation for government badging.
- Good communication skills.
- Comfortable making group presentations.
- Ability to work independently.
- Adheres to Company policies and procedures; follow department training manual guidelines and standard operating procedures.
- Works well with fellow co-workers and managers.
- Ability to communicate in a professional manner.
Qualifications
- Candidates should have knowledge of OSHA Regulations and at least 3 years of construction safety.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
- Minimum OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR/AED qualified, ability to obtain EM 385 cert within six months.
- “Competent person” proficiency in at least ONE required topic (Excavation, Scaffold, Fall Protection, Confined Space), eventually obtaining “Competent Person” or “Train-the Trainer” status in each topic,
- Ability to work with Project Managers & Foremen to compose/develop Site-Specific Safety Plan, Fall Protection Plan, Confined Space Entry Plan or Activity Hazard Analysis with provided descriptions/ site visit. +Ability to work with foremen/others to develop solutions to unforeseen safety hazard issues during the job.
- Ability to work with other trades when voicing concerns to other trades/ their foremen/ during meeting environments, etc.
- Ability to develop documentation records for all safety activities provided to the jobsite.
