Project Description: Five phase project for the Navy includes the entire replacement of Pier D plus extension of the JP-5 line from Pier C to Pier D. This project also requires that Craney Island Fuel Terminal retain services to the fleet throughout the three year – five phase construction period.
Scope of Work:
Extension of JP-5 piping from Pier C to Pier D
Demolition of Pier D North piping and removal of Fuel Loading Arms
Construction of New Pier D North JP-5, F-76, FOR, Ballast & Water piping systems and reinstallation of Fuel Loading Arms
Demolition of Pier D South piping and removal of Fuel Loading Arms
Construction of New Pier D South JP-5, F-76, FOR, Ballast & Water piping systems and reinstallation of Fuel Loading Arms
Challenges:
Logistics of demolition and reinstallation of 100% X-Ray Fuel piping systems with regards to the Navy’s schedule to fuel its fleet.
